I’m Jonathan Slaven, and I’m starting Or So It Seemed to share the kinds of stories I love: true business and technology tales with unexpected turns, strange connections between things that seem unrelated, underdogs worth remembering, and facts that sound made up.

I've spent my adult life in business and IT operations, and I'm interested in the decisions behind the technology.
I'm drawing on the storytelling of a previous era, borrowing from the suspense of Paul Harvey, and the unexpected connections of James Burke to tell my stories.
